A Bela charcoal chanderi dress that carries the whole collection on one garment. The yoke is emerald, woven in a fine gold check and outlined in gold sequin and moti hand embroidery, dropping to a point at the chest. The sleeves turn back at the cuff to show deep maroon. Everything else is plain charcoal, straight to the ankle, split high at both sides so it moves like a kurta and hangs like a dress.

Bela is jasmine - the flower that waits. It is closed and unremarkable all day and does its entire work after dark, which is the same schedule this dress keeps.

Three colours, one garment, nothing to assemble. She puts it on at seven, and the decisions for the evening are already made.
